Cancellation & refunds

How to cancel, what happens next, and what money does.

If you came here to leave, section 01 is the whole procedure and it is two lines long. The rest of the page is what happens afterwards. Nothing here is different from what you will be told on a call, and if something is unclear, email me and ask before you pay.

Version 2.2 Last updated 22 September 2026 $19.99 a month

01How to cancel

Email reodannathan@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and say you are cancelling. That is the whole procedure. No notice period, no exit call, no reason required, and I will not ask you for one.

Or do it yourself, without telling me first. In the member area, Settings → Payment has a Manage or cancel button. It opens Stripe's own billing page, where you can cancel, change your card, or read every invoice. Cancelling there does exactly what emailing me does — it stops the next charge and nothing else — and you do not owe me a conversation about it.

If you do not get a reply within two business days, send it again. A cancellation I never read is still a cancellation, and I will backdate it to the day you sent it.

02What happens when you cancel

Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for.

Calls are unlimited while you are a member, and they stop when the membership does. There is no balance to lose — you were never counting down — but a slot you have already booked past the end of your period will not happen. Book what you want inside the time you have paid for.

If you joined at $9.99, cancelling ends that rate. You keep $9.99 for as long as the subscription you started before 21 September 2026 runs without a break. The rate belongs to the subscription, not to you, so if you cancel and rejoin later you pay the price current then. That is the one thing worth thinking about before you go — the rest of this page is designed to make leaving easy, and this part is not a trap, it is just true.

03What you keep

Nothing is clawed back. A quest you completed stays completed, and a pillar you completed stays completed. Each keeps the date it was completed, the XP it paid stays on your record, and it stays yours — after you cancel, after you leave, permanently. XP never decays.

A completed quest is a record of something you actually did. Withdrawing it because you stopped paying would make it a receipt rather than a record, and then it would be worth nothing.

Two things worth separating, because members mix them up:

Your record is yours to have. Ask and I will send you what is on it — your answers, the quests and pillars you have completed with their dates, and your XP — including after you have gone.

04Refunds

There are no refunds. Once a payment is taken, that month is paid for. Cancelling ends renewal; it does not return the period you are in.

A period that has started is not split. Cancel on day 3 or on day 27 and you keep that month in full and are simply not charged again.

I would rather put that plainly at the top than bury it under conditions. What is on the button before you pay is the whole risk: $19.99, one month, one email to end it. There is also a free thirty-minute call before you pay anything, and on that call I will tell you honestly if this is not for you.

There are refunds I start myself, and they are not exceptions you have to argue for:

Two further things this rule does not cover: a statutory right you hold where you live (section 05), and money taken in error, which was never mine to keep (section 06).

Free months from an invite are not money. An invited friend's first month is a 30-day free trial, so if he cancels inside it there is nothing to refund — he is simply never charged. A free month you earn by inviting him comes off your next invoice; it is not paid out. Section 09b of the terms has the rest.

05If you are in the UK or the EU

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service within 14 days. A policy cannot remove that right and this one does not try to.

It can be waived, and joining waives it. Section 08 of the terms says, in plain words, that your Lifemax Club membership begins the moment you have paid and that starting it immediately costs you the 14-day right to withdraw. The Stripe Checkout page the site opens carries a tick above the pay button, not pre-ticked, reading "I want Lifemax Club to open immediately, and I understand that starting it now means I give up my 14-day right to cancel." That is the trade: you get everything the moment you join, and the withdrawal window closes.

And the honest caveat. If you ticked it without understanding what you were giving up, tell me inside 14 days and I will treat yours as intact. The same goes if you joined through the earlier payment link, whose tick agreed to the terms as a whole rather than being a box worded about the 14 days. I would rather give a man his money back than argue that he agreed to something he never read.

Whichever you chose is recorded against your membership with its date, and it is shown to you in the member area under Stats. If it says nothing there, you waived nothing, and the 14 days are still yours.

Everywhere else: where the consumer law of the country you live in gives you a right that cannot be waived, that law wins over this page. I am not going to claim a blanket no-refund position that is not true everywhere, because it is not.

06A charge that should not have happened

A duplicate charge, a wrong amount, or a charge after you cancelled comes back in full, as soon as either of us spots it. That is not a refund of the service. It is money that was never owed.

Email me before you file a chargeback. If it is owed you will have it faster than a bank dispute would take. If it is not owed I will tell you plainly why, in writing, and you can still dispute it. I would rather answer you than answer your bank.

07Your account, your posts, your data

Leaving ends your access. It does not automatically erase you.

What is stored, why, and for how long is set out in full in the privacy notice.

08Coming back

There is nothing to re-earn. Email me and I will reopen the account you already had rather than start you a new one. Your completed quests and pillars are still there with their dates, so every pillar they opened is still open, and your XP and level are where you left them.

You rejoin at the price current then, and there is no queue, no placement and no penalty for having left.

09Where this stands today

Membership is live at $19.99 a month, and no briefing has been filmed yet. What is running is unlimited calls with me, the room and the weekly call, and all 48 quests are there to read. Their filmed briefings arrive from January and cost a member nothing more, and the quizzes that complete a quest open alongside them.

That matters here because it changes what cancelling costs you. A member who leaves in October is not walking away from a library he has half-watched — he is giving up the calls and the room, and he can rejoin at the price current then.

The free thirty-minute call is still open and still costs nothing. It takes no card.
